In 2007, Alderson House undertookthe major task of installing a Lift.
As it is a listed building, the process of designing and locating the lift in such a way as to retain the essential structure of the building, and conform to the requirements of English Heritage was not easy. Indeed we discovered hitherto unknown features - such as an old vaulted ceiling - that made the task more interesting, but also more difficult, - See below for photographsof some of the work)
However, we now have a lift accessible from the CarPark level, and serving the ground floor (with bar, dining room and kitchen) and the first floor with the Alderson room and the Committee room
